Welcome to Del Oro Junior Golden Eagles football!

Our community has a long history of great football. We are coming off our most successful season ever- all four of our teams made the semifinals, three made the championship game and the Junior Peewees and Midgets brought home trophies! Championship rings were given out at our annual cornhole fundraiser tournament May 18th. We pride ourselves on quality coaching with an emphasis on discipline, effort and fundamentals in a positive manner. In conjunction with Del Oro graduate and coaching coordinator Marco Watson our program stresses the values of our unique Del Oro community and culture. Safety and correct technique are emphasized by our staff. Guardian safety caps, used by the NFL to reduce the risk of injury in practice are provided free of charge to our players with funds raised at our annual cornhole tournament. We have a strong collaboration with our high school program and our players will have mentoring from our head high school coach Josh Parry, true to his philosophy of “One”. We recently conducted our first line camp under the direction of Coach Parry where players received instruction from coaches with a cumulative 20 years of NFL experience free of charge. Other opportunities for skills training and strength and conditioning will be offered this spring and summer. We strongly encourage our kids to play other sports to improve overall athleticism.

Our Midget team will be headed by coach Brian Boehrer who returns a veteran staff with college level experience including coaches Boehrer, Vernon Fletcher, Eddie Obymako and Tim Bakken who also has high school coaching experience. Jessie Meeker and Steve Jackson, the offensive coordinator, will also return to the staff this year. This team made the finals and fell short by 1 point and hope to win it all this year.

Jr. Midgets will be led by our first year head coach Marcus Haney who has youth coaching experience and is a marine corps veteran who will bring discipline, structure and an emphasis on fundamentals to the team. He played for state championship coach Ernie Cooper at Granite Bay and will have four coaches with college level/NFL experience- Eric Cummings, Bob Kincade, Brian Giambastini and DO/UNR alum Mason Maggleby to coach QBs. Also on his staff is dad Mark Haney who brings championship football experience at the youth level.

The PeeWee team will be headed by coach Glen Chapman who is in his third year as head coach. His Junior PeeWee team was undefeated and made the championship game (a first for our program) and also holds a decisive win over Folsom. He brings an experienced staff- all are returning coaches, some with college level experience including Jacques Finn, Ray Kiernan, Lincoln Carey, Pete Stocker, Justus Spillner and Marco Watson. His team made the semifinals last year and returns a strong team this year.

Our Junior PeeWee team is led by returning coach Jim McIntyre with an outstanding group of veteran coaches some of whom also have division 1 college experience including Ray Sears, Jake Hensley and Adrian Reeder. This team had a dominant performance last year and capped the season with a decisive win in the championship game.

Registration is open until June 15th- we encourage families to join prior to May 24th to avoid the late registration fee. We look forward to seeing you at the first day of practice July 14th. Please do not hesitate to reach out by email if you have any questions.
